About Me
TLDR: Curious, multidisciplinary, low-ego, & serious about quality & intentional products.
I enjoy seeing the big picture, learning from others’ perspectives, and collaborating across domains and disciplines. With training and experience spanning family studies, music, business, technology, and negotiation, I’ve developed strong listening skills, a creative mindset, and a genuine curiosity that I bring to every project and initiative I undertake. My goal is to improve processes and experiences, encourage and facilitate informed decisions, and build intentional products.
I entered tech from an arts background, which still shapes how I think about much of what I do. I studied Information Systems at BYU, but before that I was deep in music, spending years in trombone, choral groups, music production, and live accompaniment for dance courses, where I improvised across 13 instruments and tools to create something fresh, on-the-fly, every class.
In my Master of Information Systems Management, I focused on data, product management, cloud infrastructure, and AI. Before that, I had taught myself React and spent time exploring web development as a career path. Though I loved the user experience and visual side of this work, I felt drawn toward automation and other means of removing technological friction.
My general background is multidisciplinary in a way I have come to appreciate. Manufacturing, web development, TA roles, study abroad, education, and music have all quietly shaped how I think. At BYU, I also studied abroad with about 30 other students from my Information Systems program, traveling the United Kingdom, Italy, and Switzerland to examine everyday applications of technology and the Fourth Industrial Revolution in real settings. This busy travel schedule taught me as much about the world and technology as it did about adaptability, low ego, and curiosity in relationship with my peers.
I took a pretty broad approach to undergrad, minoring in Family Life and taking courses in anthropology, yoga, philosophy, religious text analysis, and interior design. One of my favorite subjects was negotiation, which changed how I approach conflicts between ideas or individuals. I also sang for two years in BYU's selective choral program, first in the BYU Men's Chorus and then Concert Choir. Outside of coursework, I was involved in the Mindfulness and Meditation Club, Introverts in Business, UX Design Association, AI in Business Society, Association for Information Systems, and Product Management Association. I also enjoyed international film showings, where I was exposed to perspectives from and about other cultures.
The through-line in how people describe me has been that I listen well and stay genuinely curious. I think before I speak, I care about getting details right, and I am genuinely interested in the people I work with. If there is anything I’m most proud of, it’s that I have an open mind with high standards.
Timeline
- 2026
I built a Python script that auto-populates PowerPoint templates into print-ready photo books, replacing 30+ hours of manual work (~1,050 pages, 15 books) with 5–8 hours and cutting production cycle time by 15+ days.
- 2026
I built a Python pipeline that made 6.7M+ words of YouTube transcripts queryable and extractable for AI analysis.
- 2026
I completed my Master of Information Systems Management at BYU Marriott School of Business. Coursework included product management, agentic AI, data engineering (Python, dbt, Snowflake), data science (R, scikit-learn), and cloud engineering (AWS, Terraform).
- 2026
For my BYU Marriott capstone, I built core functionality for I AM, a React app that helps content creators respond to their audience at scale while matching their own voice and brand.
- 2026
In an applied AI group project, my team and I built MicroDeck, a Flutter habit-initiation app with user-authored micro-action cards and two-minute timers to help users start small without streaks or gamification. We developed rapidly with iterative design and testing, market research, user feedback, and agentic, spec-driven development workflows.
- 2025
I collaborated in a team that partnered with a local business to build and test LangChain AI agents that helped them work through strategic decisions and gain visibility into their point-of-sale data.
- 2025
At the BYU Marriott Case Competition, our team's presentation of growth recommendations for an AI B2B client earned us Best of Room.
- 2025
As a Data & Systems Teaching Assistant at BYU Marriott, I taught 50+ graduate students Excel statistics, Tableau, data lifecycle, and SQL; debugged student work across five languages in TA labs.
- 2024
At The LTN Foundation, I led development of a responsive React site, designed and normalized a relational database, and clarified the project's branding and goals for a clearer user experience.
- 2024
As a Full Stack Development Intern at OCSC, I shipped 20+ full-stack changes to a production SaaS web app over six months working fewer hours than part-time.
- 2023
I graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and received the IS Alumni Choice Award for living the Marriott School value of Integrity in Action.
- 2022
As a Consultant Intern on a social impact project for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I researched data sources for a world crisis information tool, brainstormed solution options with the team, and built a simple prototype to show the pros and cons of their intended and alternative approaches.
- 2022
I studied abroad across the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Italy, where 30 students and I observed the strategy in everyday uses of technology and the progression of tech into the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
- 2022
For a five-day INTEX project at BYU, I helped merge seven data sources, create user-facing logic and CRUD operations, debug and catch QA issues, and ship a working archaeological fieldwork app in C#, ASP.NET, and AWS.
- 2021
As a Teaching Assistant at BYU Marriott, I helped 60 students with Python, PostgreSQL, Django, HTML/CSS, and OOP in labs and review sessions.
- 2021
At BYU College of Fine Arts and Communications, I built and maintained Arts websites for PR and inclusivity initiatives. I audited 50+ undocumented workflow files, diagnosed and planned for cleaning up 19% of their dead storage across 8 department sites, and trained my replacement.
- 2020
I started my Bachelor of Science in Information Systems program at Brigham Young University. I deliberately chose an unfamiliar path to challenge myself. I took many opportunities to expand my perspective, such as studying abroad in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Italy, taking diverse elective courses, and earning a minor in Family Life.
